Kulfi Recipe
Here’s a delicious and easy recipe for making traditional Indian Kulfi at home!
Ingredients of Kulfi Recipe
2 cups full-fat milk
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup condensed milk
1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
1/4 cup milk powder (optional, for creaminess)
1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
A pinch of saffron strands (optional)
Chopped nuts (pistachios, almonds) for garnish
Instructions of Kulfi Recipe
1. Prepare the Mixture
In a saucepan, combine the milk and heavy cream. Bring it to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Once it boils, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring frequently. This helps reduce the milk and makes it creamier.
2. Add Flavor
Stir in the condensed milk, sugar, milk powder (if using), cardamom powder, and saffron strands (if using). Mix well and continue to simmer for another 5-10 minutes until everything is well combined and slightly thickened.
3. Cool the Mixture
Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, you can also blend it for a smoother texture, though this step is optional.
4. Freeze the Kulfi
Pour the mixture into kulfi molds or small cups. If you don’t have molds, you can use paper cups or any container.
Insert sticks into the molds (if using) and freeze for at least 6-8 hours, or until completely set.
5. Serve
To serve, run warm water over the outside of the molds for a few seconds to loosen the kulfi. Gently remove from the molds and place on a serving plate.
Garnish with chopped nuts.
Enjoy!
Serve the kulfi immediately and enjoy this creamy, delightful dessert on a hot day! You can also experiment with flavors like mango, paan, pistachio, or chocolate by adding purees or essences during the mixing stage.
