Here’s a simple and delicious pizza recipe you can make at home:

 

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 2 ¼ teaspoon active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano (optional)

For the Sauce:

  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Toppings:

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or your preferred cheese)
  • Additionally toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives, etc.)
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions of Pizza Recipe:

1. Make the Dough:

  • In a small bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Then, Stir to combine and let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  • Meanwhile, In a large bowl, combine the flour, olive oil, salt, and any optional seasonings (garlic powder, oregano).
  • Next, Pour the yeast mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
  • After that, Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Finally, Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.

2. Make the Sauce:

  • In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the garlic powder (if using) and cook for 30 seconds.
  • Add the tomato sauce, basil, sugar, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

3. Assemble the Pizza:

  • First, Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven as it preheats.
  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two portions for smaller pizzas or keep it whole for a large pizza.
  • Next, Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  • Then, Place the rolled dough onto a pizza peel or baking sheet if you’re not using a pizza stone.
  • Afterward, Spread a layer of pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Finally, Sprinkle a generous amount of mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  • Next, Add your preferred toppings (e.g., pepperoni, vegetables, olives, etc.).

4. Bake the Pizza:

  • Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven (or pizza stone) and bake for 10–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  • If you like a crispy crust, additionally, you can bake for a few extra minutes.

5. Garnish & Serve:

  • Once baked, remove from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
