You may prepare this easy and tasty pizza recipe at home:

 

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 1 packet of 2 ¼ teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups of heated water (45°C/110°F)
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano (optional)

For the Sauce:

  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato-based sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon powdered garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar
  • To taste, add salt and pepper.

For the Toppings:

  • Two cups of mozzarella cheese, or any other cheese of your choice, shredded
  • Additionally, garnishes (pepperoni, olives, bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, etc.)
  • Fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)

Instructions of Pizza Recipe:

1. Make the Dough:

  • Combine the yeast, sugar, and warm water in a small bowl. After that, stir everything together and leave it for 5-10 minutes until it foams.
  • Meanwhile, mix the flour, salt, olive oil, and optional seasonings (garlic powder, oregano) in a big basin.
  • After that, mix the dry ingredients with the yeast mixture and stir until a dough forms.
  • Next, knead the dough for 5 to 7 minutes until it is elastic and smooth on a floured surface.
  • The dough is to be put in an area that has been lightly oiled, covered with a fresh towel or plastic wrap, and let to rise for one to two hours, or until it has doubled in size.

2. Make the Sauce:

  • Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook for 30 seconds after adding the garlic powder, if using.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste then add the tomato sauce, basil, and sugar.
  • Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes over low heat, stirring now and then.

3. Assemble the Pizza:

  • Set your oven’s temperature to 475°F (245°C) first. As the oven heats up, put your pizza stone in there if you have one.
  • After the dough has risen, punch it down and either leave it whole for a large pizza or cut it in half for smaller pizzas.
  • Then, on a surface dusted with flour, roll out the dough to the thickness you want.
  • Next, if you’re not using a pizza stone, place the rolled dough onto a baking sheet or pizza peel.
  • Next, cover the dough with a layer of pizza sauce, leaving a thin border all the way around.
  • Lastly, cover the sauce with a thick layer of mozzarella cheese.
  • Add your favorite toppings (vegetables, olives, pepperoni, etc.) after that.

4. Bake the Pizza:

  • Carefully place the pizza in the oven (or on a pizza stone) that has been warmed. Bake it for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling and starting to brown.
  • Additionally, you can bake for a few more minutes if you prefer a crispy crust.

5. Garnish & Serve:

  • After baking, take it out of the oven and, if you wish, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves on top.
