Kulfi Recipe

Here’s a delicious and easy recipe for making traditional Indian Kulfi  at home!

Ingredients of Kulfi Recipe

2 cups of full-fat milk
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup condensed milk
1/2 cup sugar (adjust for taste)
1/4 cup of milk powder (optional for creaminess)
1/2 teaspoon of cardamom powder
A pinch of saffron strands (optional)
Chopped nuts (pistachios, almonds) as garnish

Instructions of Kulfi Recipe

1. Prepare the Mixture
In a saucepan, combine the milk and heavy cream. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Once it has boiled, turn the heat to low and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring periodically. This helps to decrease the milk and make it creamier.

 2. Add Flavor
Mix in the condensed milk, sugar, milk powder (if using), cardamom powder, and saffron strands (if using), and boil for another 5-10 minutes, or until everything is well combined and somewhat thicker.

3. Cool the Mixture
Remove the mixture from the heat and allow to cool to room temperature. Once chilled, you can combine it to achieve a smoother texture, but this is optional.

 4. Freeze the Kulfi
Pour the mixture into small cups or kulfi molds. If you don’t have molds, use paper cups or any other container.
Place the sticks in the molds (if using) and freeze for at least 6-8 hours, or until fully set.

 5. Serve

To serve, run warm water over the molds’ outsides for a few seconds to loosen the kulfi. Gently remove from the molds and transfer to a serving plate.
Garnish with chopped nuts.

 Enjoy!
Enjoy this creamy and delicious dessert on a hot day! Serve immediately! You can also experiment with tastes such as mango, paan, pistachio, and chocolate by adding purees or essences during the mixing process.
