Here’s a simple and delicious Chili Potato Recipe. Chili Potatoes Recipe is a famous Indo-Chinese dish consisting of crispy fried potatoes mixed in a delicious, tangy, spicy sauce. The meal is often made with thinly sliced or cubed potatoes that are deep-fried till golden and crispy. These are then covered in a sauce composed with soy sauce, chili sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and a variety of seasonings. Chili Potato, sometimes garnished with spring onions, can be served as an appetizer or as a side. It’s a delicious combination of heat, sweetness, and savory ingredients, and it’s popular for its crispy texture and powerful taste.

Ingredients of Chilli Potato Recipe :

  • 4 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and cut into thin wedges or fries
  • 2-3 tablespoons cornflour
  • 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour (optional)
  • Add Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger-garlic paste
  • 2-3 chopped green chilies, (adjust to taste)
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 chopped bell pepper (capsicum)
  • 2-3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon of red chili powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper powder
  • Spring onions for garnish
  • If you are make honey chili Potato so added 2 tablespoon Honey in Ingredients

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Potatoes: Boil the potato wedges until they are slightly soft (approximately 5-7 minutes). Drain and let cool. Mix in cornflour, all-purpose flour (if using), and salt.
  2. Fry Potatoes: To fry potatoes, heat oil in a pan or deep fryer. Fry the coated potato wedges till golden and crisp. If you want to produce crispy chili potatoes, make them more crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  3. Sauté Veggies: Saute vegetables in another pan with 1-2 teaspoons of oil. Combine the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Saute for 1 minute, then add the choped onions and bell peppers. Cook until they get somewhat soft.
  4. Add Sauce: Combine soy sauce, vinegar, tomato ketchup, red chili powder, black pepper, and honey (if making Chilli Honey Potato). Mix thoroughly and allow to cook for a few minutes.
  5. Combine: Stir the fried potatoes into the sauce mixture. Toss the potatoes thoroughly to ensure that they are uniformly coated.
  6. Garnish: Serve hot and garnish with chopped spring onions. The Chilli Potato recipe is now ready.
